Many of you know I lost my son, U.S. Marine Andrew Bedard, in Iraq 5 and a half years ago. Prior to the service, we were warned there may be a protest.  The Westboro Baptist Church pickets military funerals under a premise so disgusting I don't even want to write the words. We were lucky. They didn't show up at Andrew's service. Today the U.S. Supreme Court on a vote of 8-1, upheld a lower court's ruling that they are protected under the first amendment and tossed out a grieving father's lawsuit against them. I guess I should applaud and respect the court's decision to protect free speech.

I'm just not feeling that today.
