Former University of Montana defensive end Bobby Alt was one of 58 student-athletes from the Football Championship Subdivision named to the FCS Athletics Directors Association Academic All-Star Team the organization announced Tuesday.

Alt graduated last month with a degree in sociology. He entered the fall semester with a 3.92 grade point average.

 

Alt, from Ontario, CA started all 14 games for a Griz defense that led the Big Sky Conference in both scoring defense (19.9 ppg) and total defense (327.1 ypg).

Alt played in 39 games over his three-year career with the Grizzlies and finished with 111 tackles, 20.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks.

 

Alt was named a Capital One Academic All-American in December and will be a three-time Academic All-Big Sky Conference selection when the league’s fall academic teams are announced next month. Only nine of the 58 players on the FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team had GPAs better than Alt’s 3.92.
