What?!?!?!?! Isn't it a bit out of season? Isn't it really hot, humid and muggy? Isn't it an awesome opportunity?

The answer to all of these is "yes," and you can't blame Montana Grizzly basketball for jumping at an opportunity that only comes along every four years.

Even though practice time is still over two months away, it was announced today that the Griz are starting to get it together for a trip to Costa Rica to compete in actual games August 3-8. The trip is sanctioned by the NCAA once every four years. It also allows teams 10 practices. And it  should serve as a chance to develop and bond as a team, do some good deeds and represent Griz Nation in outstanding fashion.

The Griz will play two games, against the Costa Rica national team and also against Laurentian University, a school in eastern Canada. They will also do community service outreach activities, spending parts of their days at an orphanage, homeless shelter, food bank, health care center and an animal farm.

We hope this makes what should be a terrific team even better, as players and as human beings. Have an incredible experience, guys. Teach everybody to say, "GO GRIZ!"
