For the seventh time, Montana's Kareem Jamar has been named Big Sky Conference Basketball Player of the Week. The Griz senior standout shares the honor this week with Weber State's Joel Bolomboy. Kareem had a tremendous all-around week in wins over Montana State, Portland State and Eastern Washington. He made was 24-of-32 free throws and was 6-of-13 from 3-point range. In the 70-66 win over the Bobcats, Jamar had 20 points and 10 rebounds to go along with a block and a steal. Thursday night against Portland State he went for 19 points, five rebounds and five assists. Then to put icing on the cake, it was a 23-point performance Saturday night against Eastern Washington, an effort that moved him up to sixth in UM career scoring. His 1,519 total points so far make him only the 32nd player in Big Sky Conference career scoring. In the process he moved past a fellow named Wayne Tinkle (1,500 total points) on the Griz career scoring list. Nice week, congrats Kareem and Go Griz!  DB
