The Big Sky Conference Monday announced the results of their coaches and media preseason football polls. The Montana Grizzlies were picked third in both polls behind Montana State (first) and Eastern Washington (second). Considering the challenges the team faced last year and the losing record (5-6), that's pretty good recognition and respect. And another nice prop for senior linebacker Jordan Tripp of Missoula, who was voted preseason defensive player of the year. We know it all means nothing but I like the added chip on the shoulder that should come with having your two biggest conference rivals chosen ahead of you. Forty-eight days and counting to the start of making a statement, Griz fans! Here's how the balloting went for the whole Big Sky Conference:
