Hard to believe it's the first time in over 20 years (yeah, we get the respect we deserve). But allow me to crush the sour grapes and congratulate Montana Grizzly junior guard Kareem Jamar, who Monday was named men's Big Sky Conference basketball most valuable player! Oh, Kareem was also named Big Sky Conference player of the week for his efforts the last three games. And it gets even better! Senior guard Will Cherry was named defensive player of the year for the second year in a row and was also a first team all-conference pick. Senior forward Mathias Ward was a second team selection. Sadly, his season is over after surgery. The last Griz to earn the MVP honor was Delvon Anderson after the 1991-92 season. Our regular-season champion Griz will host the Big Sky Conference tournament this week. Congrats to all our players. You've had a fabulous year so far and we look forward to more great things to come!  DB
