Griz Gets More Academic Honors

University of Montana basketball player Mathias Ward was named Thursday to the Capital One Academic All-America Division 1 Team. Mathias is a third team selection and the first Griz named to that squad in 13 seasons (Matt Williams, 2000). Talk about excelling on the court and off. Mathias is the team's leading scorer and is currently pursuing a master's degree in business administration, maintaining a 3.84 GPA. Unfortunately, an ankle injury will keep him out of the Bracketbuster game Saturday at Davidson. But they'll get him healthy for the stretch run of the Big Sky Conference season. Congrats to Mathias on another major academic accomplishments. That's one I am really going to miss.  DB
