Sean Johnson came off the bench to score 17 points in leading Duquesne to an 87-76 win over Montana in the first round of the College Basketball Invitational on Wednesday night.

T.J. McConnell added 15 points, while B.J. Monteiro and Bill Clark added 13 points apiece for the Dukes (19-12).

Duquesne went on a 22-2 run in the first half and had a commanding 49-35 lead going into the break. Montana played the second half close, but it wasn't enough to overcome the early deficit.

Kareem Jamar led the Grizzlies (21-11) with 22 points and five rebounds. Brian Qvale added 15 points and became the Big Sky Conference's single-season blocked shots record holder with his second rejection of the game, bringing his total to 95 this season.
