Griz Basketball Star Earns Player of Week Honor

A big Griz Nation congrats to junior forward Martin Breunig of the Montana Grizzly basketball team. Martin (pictured) earned his first-ever Big Sky Conference Player of the Week award for his outstanding performances Thursday and Saturday, as the Griz stayed in the hunt for a conference title with those wins over Idaho State 88-77 and Weber State 74-63.

In those two games, Breunig scored a total of 41 points, collected 9 rebounds, five assists and two blocks, as the Griz remained tied at the top of the Big Sky standings. Martin shares the award this week with Kris Yanku of Northern Arizona. And it won't be his last player of the week award, that's for sure. The kid from Leverkusen, Germany, is an amazing talent and we get to enjoy his skills again next season. Hopefully the Griz will win the Big Sky, host the conference tournament and fans will get to see him and the rest of the Griz again this year!
