Of course champagne is at the top of the list. You just can’t have New Years without champagne. That would be like a Christmas without eggnog. Besides champagne, what else would make a great New Year’s drink? I’ve found three great alternatives to straight champagne this year. One is a nonalcoholic drink, so there is a little something for the kiddos too.

Ingredients: 1 can of nectar (any flavor), 1 can of pineapple juice, 3/4 cup cold water, 1 can thawed frozen orange juice concentrate and 1 bottle of champagne.

Directions: Stir everything together in a large bowl except for the champagne. Add the champagne to the mixture right before drinking.

Ingredients: 1 can each juice concentrate of cranberry juice, pink lemonade and limeade, 1 bottle of chilled white wine, 1 liter club soda and 2 bottles of chilled champagne.

Directions: Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and then serve.

Ingredients: 2 lemons, 3 oranges, 1 can lemonade concentrate, 1 liter club soda, 2 bottle sparkling juice and 1 tablespoon sugar.

Directions: Slice oranges and lemons and put in the bottom of a punch bowl. Pour in the rest of the ingredients and then stir.

Ingredients: 3 cans peach nectar, 1 can orange juice concentrate, 1/4 cup lemon juice, 1/2 cup peach brandy, 1/4 cup grenadine, 1 liter club soda and 3 bottle champagne.

Directions: Pour all noncarbonated ingredients into a punch bowl and stir. Pour in the carbonated ingredients and serve.
