Grandmother is a Career Jewel Thief

I don't think my Grandma Rose would've ever had this in her, but hey, who knows? Associated Press tells us that Doris Payne is going to trial for allegedly stealing a ring from a Southern California jewelry store valued at $22,000. Even though she claims to have swiped millions of dollars' worth of jewels in the U.S. and Europe, Doris is pleading innocent to this one. She has several convictions and was on probation at the the time of her arrest. Oh yeah...Doris is 83. The ring has been recovered. No word on the status of the other loot stolen over a five-decade spree. DB
