University of Montana college students can be pretty creative when it comes to making food in their dorm rooms. Grilled cheese sandwich made with an iron, anyone? But usually these creations are far from gourmet fare. Well, one Columbia University student is changing all that.

Economics major Jonah Reider is running a gourmet restaurant ... out of his dorm room.

The restaurant, called Pith, is in the dorm suite he shares with three roommates. Pith is open for dinner on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, Just four people can attend ... and reservations are available via Yelp.

Diners are treated to a five- to eight-course dinner including such items as yellow tomatoes and fennel seed topped with wet salt, scallops on top of chanterelle polenta, and celery root soup with pumpkin seed oil. Prices range from $10 to $20 per person.

Oh, and Pith is booked until Christmas break. (Elite Daily)
