I think they are a creepy looking species. And with their size and reputation, they can be mighty intimidating.Fortunately, an emu cowboy rode in and saved the town folk from any vicious attacks.

Associated Press tells us that near Hemet, California, an emu that was on the loose for days was rounded up by a rancher. The 6-foot bird eluded animal control personnel, but a rancher was finally able to get it corralled.

The bird was taken to an animal shelter, and hopefully an owner will come forward and claim it. If not, you emu lovers might want to contact the Hemet shelter and see if you can fly it up to Montana! Hey, it can't fly itself, ya know!
