People who love their gardens and local foods are planning to take advantage of seven workshops at the Ravalli County Fair Friday and Saturday, August 31 and Sept 1. In the Floral Building, expert gardener Molly Hackett will be sharing some of her extensive knowledge at 11 a.m. Then, at 2 p.m., Bob Danley, host of the Bitterroot Outdoor Journal on KLYQ 1240 AM Radio, will be giving you tips on how to attract butterflies to your garden.

Meanwhile in the Agriculture Building, just north of the First Interstate Center on the fairgrounds, Friday will bring a Gardening 101 class with Molly Hackett at 1 p.m. At 2:30, Jean Isreal will talk about culinary herbs. The evening presentation at 6 p.m. will feature Heath Carey, entitled "Fermentation 101: A Cultural Revolution." But there's more!

Saturday, The Floral area will feature Becky Marsh at 11 a.m. with "Garden Tools that Work for You. The Ag building will have Al Sperry at 12:30 p.m. with a Cheese-making Demonstration. The exhibits in both areas are beautiful, with some imaginative veggie creatures in the Ag building.Butterflies, gardening, cheese and fermentation tips.
