So many places in town are coming together to try to make furloughed government workers' lives a little easier during the shutdown. From local breweries to Griz basketball games, everyone is trying to pitch in. You can now add the Roxy Theater to that list. Missoula's independent movie theater is offering free movies to any furloughed government employee for as long as the shutdown lasts.

I'm a huge fan of The Roxy in large part because they're the only place to see certain movies in Missoula, and because they have a healthy programming slate of classic films, but I also love it for stuff like this. Of course, it's a small condolence to people who I'm sure want nothing more than to just go back to work and earn their paycheck, but it's a great gesture that allows these workers to still go out and entertain themselves while hopefully allowing them to spend their money on bills and food. The longer the shutdown goes on, the more and more people it's going to hurt - hopefully it gets resolved in the near future.
