Molly Ryan has become the district ranger for the Wisdom Ranger District and Wise River Work Center on the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest.

She replaces Russ Riebe, who retired earlier this year.

According to Leona Rodreick of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge Forest, Ryan was raised in Dillon, MT., graduated from Montana State University in Bozeman and and received her MS in recreation management at the University of Montana. She has U.S. Forest Service experience in Montana and Utah. She worked with the USFS Region 1 Historic Preservation crew in Montana. In Utah she most recently was a Deputy District Ranger for the Flaming Gorge-Vernal Ranger District. She also worked as a Special Use Permit Administrator and a District Recreation Program Manager.

In a news release, Ryan said, "I am looking forward to working closely with the local communities and the Forest in managing our natural resources."

She started as the Wisdom ranger January 30th.
