Fly Fishing for Bass in the Flathead

This weekend I ventured up north and went fly fishing for Bass in the Flathead. I had gotten some tips from some listeners and was all geared up for the weekend.

The Bass I guess right now are acting funny, they aren't really feeding all that much so this was not easy. I was prepared with streamers and poppers, and two different rods to combat whatever I needed to do to catch these guys.

I already knew going in it was difficult to fly fish for them and really more difficult after this time of year. I was using a black leech pattern streamer and even though the bass weren't liking them the sunfish and crappie were.

So it wasn't a total loss of a weekend fly fishing for Bass. I had a nice one on that ended up shaking off when I got him close to the boat. Upsetting to say the least but at least I caught something.
