Fishing Restrictions Lifted Saturday on One Local River and Several Creeks

Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks are lifting fishing restrictions Saturday, August 22 on the upper Clark Fork River as well as Flint and Silver Bow Creeks.

Most recently, these waterways have been under "hoot owl" restrictions, meaning fishing wasn't allowed from 2 p.m. through midnight since July 3 to reduce the impact on "drought-stressed" fish that may have been swimming in these streams.

Now, the entire Clark Fork River is free of these "hoot owl" restrictions. However, these restrictions still remain in place on Blackfoot tributaries such as Morrell, Gold, Belmont, Cottonwood, Copper and Monture Creeks; the North Fork of the Blackfoot River and Landers Fork.
