Well as far as I know it’s the first one of the season and I’m not talking spring. Nope open burning season. A controlled burn east of Florence got away Monday  and torched over 50 acres of grassland before it was brought under control. In some ways it’s a spring thing, the ritual burning of the fencepost. The local rural fire departments have lots of good information on burning safely this time of year contact them and they’ll be glad to help. It’s a very good idea to let them know before you burn, that way you won’t get a surprise visit when your nervous neighbor calls in the big plume of smoke.
