Even if you're not a dedicated Montana Grizzly sports fan, you will probably find this data very interesting.

You are invited to join Patrick Barkey, director of Montana’s Bureau of Business and Economic Research, and Director of Athletics Kent Haslam for a presentation about a recently completed study regarding the economic impact of Grizzly Athletics on the Missoula community.

The presentation, which is expected to last no longer than 30 minutes, will be held on Thursday, Sept. 15, at 3 p.m. in the Canyon Club of Washington-Grizzly Stadium. The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session and, if desired, one-on-one interviews with Barkey and Haslam.

The study, which took nearly a year to complete and used information from financial records, ticket sales, attendance and surveys completed by Grizzly football season-ticket holders, was built to answer the question, What would the economy of Missoula look like if Grizzly Athletics did not exist?

Our thanks to Joel Carlson, UM Sports Information Director, for the invitation. I'm guessing we will see some pretty impressive numbers!
