With back-to-school time here, we’re all trying to get the last bit of rest and relaxation in before the chaos starts. What better way to do this than to enjoy the great places and things that our town has to offer? Here’s a list of some of the must-go-to and must-see places right in our own backyard.

We Missoulians love our food, especially our local food. A couple of must-go-to and eat places are Black Cat Bakery and Big Dipper Ice Cream. Black Cat offers some of the most mouth watering baked goods of all sorts. Big Dipper is the king of ice cream flavors here in our city.

If you want to spend what’s left of your summer travel money or get something unique for the school year, look no farther than Import Market and Rockin’ Rudy’s. You’ll find uniquely Missoula shopping at both of these downtown destinations. If you’re looking at spending a little more dough, then be sure to check out Karl Tyler Chevrolet and Cadillac. They offer a variety of vehicles to help you get your kids where they need to go or help your teen driver find their way to school too.

Do you want to enjoy a late night or two before school starts and the late night studying begins? If so, West Side Lanes and Carmike 10 both offer some great ways to enjoy night life. Anything from 3D movies to karaoke and to dancing, bowling and pool. There’s something for everyone.

Outdoor activities in Missoula can really vary widely. Our very own Missoula Fair Grounds offer some great outdoor viewing. Anything from monster trucks and demolition derbies to concerts and the fair. If you love even more outdoor activities than there is no better way to enjoy the outdoors than a swim, float or hike along the Clark Fork River.
