The next time you make a bad driving decision in winter weather and end up in a snow bank, maybe this will make you feel better.

AP tells us that race car driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. told fans that he had to use a winch to pull his pickup out of a ditch after he slid off the road and hit a tree. Dale Jr. had apparently pulled over just moments before to help some other people get un-stuck, before the nasty snowstorm near Mooresville, North Carolina, got Jr. as well.

The good news: even though Dale "center-punched" a tree as he put it, his truck had only minor damage. And neither he or the people he stopped to help were injured, so he gets a good citizen star and we'll let him off with just a warning for his bad driving if that's okay with you racing fans.
