This is sad and aggravating too, looking at it as a taxpayer that pays for these critical services. The last thing you want these people doing is taking time away from addressing actual emergencies. Associated Press tells us that a Pennsylvania man has been charged with making 911 calls to report fake emergencies because he was lonely and wanted emergency personnel to show up. Three calls came in over a 4-hour period with various complaints, all of which were false. For example, there was the call about a fall down the stairs resulting in head and neck injuries. When paramedics arrived they found him intoxicated, but otherwise calmly waiting for their arrival. See what I mean by sad and aggravating? The guy is in jail waiting a preliminary court hearing this coming week.
