Ed Sabol, the founder of NFL Films and a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, died yesterday (Monday) at the age of 98.

Sabol, who is credited with revolutionizing sports on camera. captured pictures and sounds that had never been seen or heard before. He was remembered by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell who said, "Through his determination and innovative spirit, Ed Sabol transformed how America watched football and all sports."

He and his son Steve Sabol, who passed away in 2012, are credited with introducing sports fans to things like super slow-motion, blooper reels and body mics on players and coaches. During his 30-year tenure as the head of NFL Films, the organization won 52 Emmy Awards. Ed Sabol is survived by his wife of 74 years, Audrey, his daughter and his grandson. (ESPN)
