I am usually a traditional cake maker. Traditional to me means that I open a box of Betty Crocker, pour in the water, oil and eggs, mix it and bake it. I have heard of making cakes and other baked good without using eggs or butter, but wasn’t ever able to find a recipe. However, I have finally found one.

I was surprised how easy this cake was to make, and how few dishes were dirtied in the process. You make the entire cake in the pan that you bake the cake in. Who doesn’t love fewer dirty dishes to wash? If you’re looking for an easy and delicious cake recipe, give this one a try.

Easy Crazy Chocolate Cake

3 cups flour
6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
2 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon white vinegar
2 vanilla extract
1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons oil
2 cups water

Mix all of the dry ingredients in a 9x13 inch pan. Make three small holes in the cake. Pour the vinegar in one hole, the vanilla in another hole and the oil in the last hole. Now pour the water over the entire cake. Mix until well combined and batter is smooth.

Bake the cake for 35 minutes at 350 degrees. Insert a toothpick to see if the cake is done. When the toothpick comes out clean, the cake is ready to be taken out of the oven. Frost the cake with your favorite flavor of frosting.
