Easter weekend in the Bitterroot Valley had a mixture of activities and a full slate of weather conditions, too. The skies were not as cloudy as other parts of Montana, but the wind was cold as a northern front moved through the area.

Easter church services started Friday and continued through the weekend. Easter egg hunts were plentiful in almost every town Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's biggest hunt was at the Ravalli County Airport with the Ravalli County Pilots Association 11 a.m. public event, including arrival of the Easter Bunny.

Sunday, weather conditions favored the other major egg hunt in Hamilton - the Eagles Lodge 52nd annual event at the Ravalli County Fairgrounds at 1 p.m. Included this year were eggs with golden tickets that enabled the egg finder to claim one of eight bicycles given away.

Saturday, for the second year, the Christian Veterans of the Bitterroot carried a large cross on the Bitterroot Bike Trail along US 93 from Hamilton to Lolo. Various members carried the cross for designated miles of the route, The march started at 7 in the morning at Angler's Roost south of Hamilton and ended late in the afternoon at Lolo's Set Free Christian Fellowship Church.
