Don’t Feed the Bears!
The Craig & Al Morning Show hit a “hot button” this morning judging from the phone calls it generated.
The story involved state game officials capturing and euthanizing five black bears. They received complaints from Heron area residents that someone was regularly feeding the bears. Officials said the bears “were extremely habituated and food conditioned and posed a danger to people.”
Callers were really upset that someone would be foolish (they said “stupid” and other words) enough to feed wild animals. Craig and I both agree. DON’T FEED WILD ANIMALS!
Craig likens people who feed wild animals to dung beetles. He saw them on the Nature Channel.
And remember if you’ve got fruit trees in the yard pick up the fallen fruit. Bears love it.
