Dog Smells Gas and Saves Elderly Man

You rescued me, I rescued you...Sounds like these two have a beautiful friendship. And an elderly gentleman in Madison, Wisconsin is likely still

alive because of it. Eighty-year-old Russell Hackman was awakened by his Chihuahua, Webster, the other night. And the persistent Webster would not let him go back to sleep. That's when Mr. Hackman finally got up, smelled the gas leak and called 9-1-1. Firefighters found the gas leak at the water heater. So hooray for Webster, who yes, is a mistreated rescue dog, adopted from the animal shelter that Mr. Hackman volunteers some of his time. Guess it was meant to be.
