We know that there's usually some sort of dog division in Montana running races, right? Well, this didn't exactly follow protocol but it was a worth a medal anyway. Boogie the chocolate Labrador ran most of the 13.1 mile race on Saturday before being taken to Animal Control. His owner says Boogie slipped his leash for the fourth time and hit the road. Boogie finished the race in about 2 hours, 15 minutes, which was better than over half the human participants. And he earned himself a participation medal. So the Evansville organizers are obviously good sports about it. Besides now being microchipped, Boogie also has an appointment to be neutered, according to his owner, Jerry Butts. That's right folks: Boogie Butts. DB
