Some kind of slime has been slowly covering the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C. It's a microbial invasion that has so far dumbfounded experts. Some cleaning solutions that remove algae, bacteria and fungi are being applied. They are designed to not damage the marble. And while some progress is being made, no one can be sure that the slime won't return.

So, who you gonna call? Heck, if we can spend thousands on a toilet seat, we can afford to give a proton pack and ecto containment unit a try, can't we?       DB
