When the 2018 Parade of Lights procession of 29 floats approached the 200 block of North Higgins on Saturday (12/1) night, they were met with messages of anti-consumerism.

Parade goers facing west on Higgins could also see the massive rotation of anti-consumerism messages and images projected on to the wall of a downtown bank. Some families considered the images to be quite inappropriate for a family holiday parade.

One slide said "Hurry! Buy more stuff" while another depicted Jesus on the cross holding shopping bags. A quick glance around the street crowded with hundreds of people did not reveal the person or people responsible for the projection, and the display was not part of the Missoula Downtown Association's parade or festivities.
