I think it's pretty obvious where we're going here, isn't it? New meaning to passing a stone. This happened at a charity event in Florida. According to Associated Press, the Tampa Women's Club offered memebrs a chance to win a one-carat diamond worth $5,000. You had to buy a glass of champagne for $20 and at the bottom of 399 of the 400 glasses were $10 cubic zirconias. In one glass was the diamond. So eighty-year old Miriam Tucker kind of forgets what's going on while she's chitty-chatting with the girls and takes a sip or two of her bubbly. While jewelers are frantically searching for the real stone, she tells them what happens and it is determined by the process of elimination that Miriam is the proud owner of a prize that will require the process of elimination. Well, turns out she had a colonoscopy scheduled anyway, and her doctor was able to retrieve it. And of course she was the prize winner so it's hers to keep. The $5,000 diamond is now being appraised at $37.95. DB
