The constant rain and cool temps could have made for some owly pirates. But it's all smiles as the journey continues!

After four days of family gatherings with members of Jennifer's wonderful Michigan family, we got back on the road for adventures on the high seas of Lake Huron and the short boat ride to Mackinac Island (pictured coming in through the mist beyond the lighthouse). After our day of shopping and sightseeing, if was off to the Upper Peninsula over the longest suspension bridge in the western hemisphere (thank you narrator guy on AM 550 info radio channel).

We are headquartered in Sault Ste. Marie for a day of waterfalls and shipwrecks. Can't wait to pay my respects to the Edmund Fitzgerald.  Stay cool, western Montana. I know a lot of you would love the showers and mid-60 temps here right about now.  DB
