I just gave you a recipe for making cookie dough that is safe to eat, so I thought I would give you a recipe where you have to bake the cookies. I know this is no chocolate chip cookie recipe, but it is a cookie recipe that contains one of my favorite foods, Nutella.

If you haven’t tried this delicious mix of hazelnut and cocoa, then you are truly missing out. Since I have found this delicious nutty spread, it has completely taken the place of peanut butter in my world. Nutella has almost the exact same fat content, protein and calories per serving as peanut butter, but much better taste I think. So, when I found this Nutella cookie recipe on Pinterest, I just had to try it.

Nutella Oatmeal Banana Cookies

1 1/2 cups flour

1 cup sugar

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup butter flavored Crisco

2 over-ripe bananas

1 egg

1 3/4 cup oatmeal

1/4 cup Nutella

Stir flour, sugar, baking soda and salt together in a large bowl. Cut Crisco into the flour mixture with a pastry blender. Use a hand mixer to beat bananas and egg into the mix, and then stir in the oatmeal. Drop Nutella into the mixture and lightly mix, so that Nutella swirls can be seen in the mix. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet, and bake cookies for 8 to 10 minutes in a 400 degree oven.
