Dave Chappelle to Earn $60 Million With Netflix Deal

New details have emerged regarding Dave Chappelle’s colossal deal with Netflix. The veteran comedian inked a deal with the streaming television service to produce three new comedy specials.

According to New York Post's Page Six, the deal is reportedly worth $60 million. Apparently, the specials will consist of two programs from the funnyman's personal vault and one brand new special produced for Netflix. The shows will premiere simultaneously next year.

“Dave was offered $20 million a special. Netflix basically has a war chest for this kind of content," an insider told Page Six. "Whether it’s a loss or not, Dave Chappelle’s specials will get a lot of press and bring in new subscribers.”

We have to agree. These will be Chappelle’s first specials in 12 years since leaving his iconic Comedy Central sketch-comedy series, Chappelle's Show, in 2005. After hosting a very funny episode of Saturday Night Live, fans are eagerly waiting for something new from the 43-year-old comedian.

This is Netflix’s second huge deal in the comedy forum this year. Recently, the network signed a partnership with Chris Rock for $40 million for two specials. Rock reportedly netted $40 million in his pact.

Netflix is mum on the specifics of Dave Chappelle's deal. “We don’t comment on the financial terms of our deals," said a rep.
