Missoulians who want to show their support for the stand against the Dakota access pipeline are invited to participate in a demonstration planned for this afternoon.

The #NoDAPL "Gathering a Stand in Solidarity" demonstration will be held today, September 9th, from 3 to 5 p.m. Supporters are encouraged to stand along the Orange and Higgins Street bridges with signs of support.

Bring signs, drums, smiles, and prayer.

This will be a peaceful event.

Tobacco and prayer will be given to the river at 3pm, by Brennan's wave.

If you can't make it to the gathering but would like to show your support, or if you would like to understand the Stand Against the Dakota Access Pipeline better, please see the petition against the construction.

Many tribes, including the one I am a member of, the Salish/Flathead, are currently gathered at camps in attempt to stop the DAPL route that the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe recently identified as sacred tribal burial ground, a site that was bulldozed over the Labor Day weekend by pipeline construction crews.
