This article would be better suited for October to coincide with Halloween but here we are writing about spooky season in February.

Actually, we're discussing unsettling locations in Missoula. Not exactly spooky season but rather anxiety-filled, uneasy, disturbing unsettling spots in Missoula.

A user on Missoula's Reddit page (u/notesfromundergr0und... which, by the way, sounds like an unsettling user name) posted the question "What are the most unsettling places in Missoula?"

Here are the responses.

"Cali street bridge and the bear cage in Greenough Park."

I had to look up the bear cage at Greenough Park. According to the Missoula Historic Preservation Office, this cage was used "from 1905 to the mid 1930s" to house live bears.

"The Greenough family kept bears in the Bear Cage and took them to University of Montana, then known as Montana State University, football games and other sporting events. The bear was the mascot of early UM athletics - a real Monty."

"The abandoned St Pat's near Broadway, with that parking garage attached... Me and a homie found a few ancient medical supplies and records along with 90s computer parts.... 4 floors of the darkest, dankest s*** I've ever seen, the hallways seem to stretch for miles."

My analysis: Yikes...

"Bed bath and beyond scared the s*** out of me as a kid, no idea why. Just vibes"

Hey, we all had our "afraid of the dark" things when we were kids. Somebody else commented "Especially that beyond section." That gave me a good chuckle.

"The basement and defunct parking garage underneath the Florence building. There's a collapsed tunnel that lead to the Wilma at one point, and the whole place is just f***ing creepy."

"Union club bathroom"

My analysis: I love Union Club and it is one of the most unique bathrooms I've ever been in for sure. It's also not the only bathroom to make the list...

"Mo Club men's bathroom"

My analysis: If you have to go... number 2... you should go elsewhere unless you want an audience.

"Brooks St any time after 11pm. Theres almost no cars. You can basically walk along the center of the road and be perfectly fine. It feels almost post-apocalyptic."
