Community Pig Roast At Lone Rock

Dan Metully, Lone Rock School board chairman, was on the Craig & Al Morning Show to let everyone know about the Lone Rock Community BBQ Saturday the 14th of July. It’s not really a fundraiser, just a chance for all the community residents to get together and have some fun.
They’re smoking two whole hogs, and doing hamburgers and hot dogs. There will be two bands, as many classic cars as they can muster for a car show, a dunk tank, horseshoes, volleyball, softball etc. The meat is all free. They’re asking everyone to bring a side dish, salad or desert. They’ll be selling soft drinks, snow cones, etc.
They’re also selling raffle tickets at 5 bucks each for a weeklong vacation at the Oregon Coast for up to eight people, and two spots on a guided salmon fishing boat. All proceeds from the raffle, drinks, etc will be used to pay for this BBQ and support future ones.
To get there take the Eastside Hwy until you find Three Mile Creek Rd between Florence and Stevensville. Head East toward the Sapphire Mtns. You’ll find the fun. Last year they had about 600 people attend, join in the fun.
