People of Chicago wear their pride in their hearts, on their sleeves and most importantly, in their stomachs. Luckily, Chicagoans can wear their teams' apparel everywhere and purchase it practically anywhere. They can watch their games on TV or the Internet from all over the globe. But, getting a hold of your favorite Chicago dishes in is not as easy, or is it?
For all of you Chicagoans, or Windy City lovers scattered across all corners of the country, whom have searched high and low to find these one-of-a-kind dishes, search no more.
Tastes of Chicago has you covered.
I am originally from suburban Chicago, and now living in Missoula. My first holiday away from the windy city is when homesickness hit me hard. I went to Bozeman to spend the holiday with a friend. There was a package waiting for me upon my arrival; to my amazement it was from home, and it was Lou Malnati’s - my favorite Chicago-style pizza (which is an answered prayer in itself). It was the perfect way to send a little bit of home when I needed it most. For the past three years it has become a tradition. Every year my family sends a combination of Lou Malnati’s pizzas along with something else. Everything is delicious and very easy to prepare.
Tastes of Chicago is a Mecca for all of your Chicago food cravings.
They offer delivery around the country from some of my favorite Chicago restaurants including:
- Portillo’s hot dogs & beef
- Lou Malnati’s Pizzaria
- Eli’s Cheese Cake
- Garrett Popcorn
- Manny’s deli
- Wild Fire steaks
- Hackney’s burgers
- Carson’s ribs
This is how it works; you can pick different packages or combinations of foods. Once you place your order, you can choose when you would like it to be delivered. When the food arrives it is in a package with dry ice (if needed) and inside there are directions for preparing it. It’s THAT easy. It makes for an unforgettable present for someone that could use a little Chicago in their life.
I know what you’re thinking, that you’re skeptical about something so perfect being shipped across the country and assembled and prepared by inexpert hands. Trust me, it is legit. The picture above is of a hot dog I prepared after being shipped to Lake Havasu City, Ariz.
