Gifts Wedding Couples Hate

With wedding season comes lots of gift buying. How do you know what to get. Before I was married I would have answered that differently then I do now. After receiving wedding gifts that I have never used or just re-gifted, I am able to compile a list of the worst wedding gifts to give the lucky couple.

Horrible Father’s Day Gifts

For this blog I went straight to the source, I asked my wonderful husband what he thought would be a terrible gift to get for Father’s Day and below are the answers he gave. It is only fair to note that my husband is an outdoorsman and has not a metrosexual bone in his body. He is much more comfortable living in the woods off the land for two weeks than staying at a five star resort for two weeks. If your man is anything like mine, then this list will be of great use to you.

Bike for Beer

What would you do if your favorite bar was on wheels? What if your favorite bar was environmentally friendly and could take you to other bars? Well, in places like Minneapolis, Nashville and San Diego, this is a reality.

Who is the New Mr. Rogers?

Most of us 30 somethings grew up with the soothing, mild-mannered, sweater-loving man named Mr. Rogers. Every kid dreamed of being his neighbor. He loved helping children learn while having fun in a calm and relaxed environment.

4 Best Made in Montana Fly Fishing Products

This past weekend, Missoula was host to the Orvis Guide Rendezvous Show. This show included both Montana-based companies and companies based outside of Montana, all of which cater to fly fishing in some aspect or another. Pretty much any and every kind of company that can be associated with fly fishing was there, from raft frame makers to cooler manufacturers and drift boat manufacturers to anchor companies.

Best Animal Video Ever

Have you ever noticed how different animals eat? It’s interesting if you think about it. For example, a cow simply plants its face in its food and chews away. How about an alligator? What do you think it’s like when an alligator opens its big jaws and just chomps away? That must make quite a mess. How about a lizard? It slithers along and then suddenly attacks its prey.

Montana Hot Springs

Being a parent with a pile of kids, I long for weekends alone with my husband. Sometimes I think back to the days before kids and the free time we had to spend together. We had more time and money back then for each other and for romance. Now, whenev

9 Mile House is Back – Bringing With it the Best Cheeseburger and Fries

I have a confession to make. For the past month or so I have been indulging in the best cheeseburger and fries I’ve ever had. I am feeling a little bit guilty about not sharing, so I will let you in on my little secret. The best cheeseburger and fries I have ever eaten are from the newly reopened 9 Mile House, which is now known as the 9 Mile Roadhouse. You can still find this out of the way eatery at 28030 Old US Highway 10 West in Huson.

Crockpot Potato Pig Soup Recipe

This soup is called potato pig, because I use either ham or bacon when I make this soup. All the boys in my family love both, but I definitely prefer ham. There is nothing quite like hot potato soup on a cold Montana day. It’s creamy and hearty. This is a super simple recipe. If you wanted to make it even simpler, you could always prep the potatoes and onions the night before then all you have to do is throw everything in the crockpot in the morning before work. This would save you at least 20 minutes in the morning. I don’t have a lot of spare time in the mornings, so this makes it way more convenient.

My Five Favorite Christmas Treats

This past weekend I spent hours slaving away in the kitchen making countless batches of Christmas treats. I am trying to stockpile these treats for when my family herd shows up for Christmas. Some of these treats are my favorite because my mom made them when I was little, and others I have come to love as an adult
