And the Saints will march on as Andy Garland scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Carroll College to a 69-63 upset of 11th-seeded Union of Tennessee in the first round of the NAIA Division I men's basketball tournament.

Freshman Chris McGrath made four free throws in the final 43 seconds to help the Saints (23-8) advance to a second round game against unseeded Rogers State of Oklahoma on Friday at 5:15 p.m. Mountain.

Both teams struggled from the free throw line in Wednesday's late game that stretched into early Thursday in Kansas City, Mo.

Carroll led 42-39 at halftime and never trailed in the second, although Union tied the score at 51 with just under 12 minutes to play.

Garland hit four 3-pointers and Sam Cartmell added three to finish with 12 points. Tony Dalton scored 10 of his 11 in the second half after sitting most of the first with foul trouble.

Antoine Joseph led Union (26-7) with 14 points and seven rebounds.
