Car Stolen So Long It’s a Classic Now

Well, maybe I’m assuming too much here, but if it came back 30 years later in better shape, maybe. That was the bizarre case Associated Press reports involving a 1957 beater that was stolen from Ian Wilson in 1984. Can you imagine getting a call from the California Highway Patrol saying they found the car on a cargo ship bound for Australia! But not just found. It had been pimped out with monogrammed interior, 17-inch racing wheels, rack-and-pinion steering and a 350-horsepower V-8 engine! Not bad, considering Mr. Wilson bought it as a “sorry shape” fixer-upper for $375 dollars in 1975. Now all he needs to do is add fuzzy dice. DB
