47 year-old Ronald Hall appeared in Missoula Justice Court via video from the Missoula County Jail on Monday, charged with felony assault with a weapon after allegedly threatening a woman and her dog with a butcher knife.

Court records indicate that the woman called 9-1-1 on Saturday, and said that Hall had entered her home without permission and threatened to kill her and her dog with a butcher knife, and that she was afraid for her life.

When police arrived at the scene, Hall was seen running from the house, and was later apprehended in a nearby field.

The woman was not injured, and the butcher knife was recovered inside the house.

Hall has been charged with two felonies, assault with a weapon and burglary, along with two misdemeanors, criminal mischief and partner or family member assault.

Chief Deputy County Attorney Jennifer Clark asked Judge Karen Orzech for Hall to be placed on $40,000 bond, but due to the fact that Hall had threatened the victim in the past, and also had previous firearms related charges, the judge placed Hall back in the Missoula County Jail on $50,000 bond.

His next court appearance will be November 5.
