Okay, I don't mean me, Toto, specifically. I mean our breed, the cairn terrier. A proposal in the Kansas state legislature got voted down...

It would have made us Totos the official state dog of Kansas. But a House committee squashed the bid Monday. But they plan to try it again next year and an official with the South Central Kansas Kennel Club plans to drum up support this summer. Some of the outspoken opposition came from PETA, who believe it would cause Kansas puppy mills to churn out "litter after litter of the breed" and lead to fewer adoptions from animal shelters. Really? I don't think so, dudes. Anyway, the campaign is still alive and well. My thanks to my favorite country radio announcer Denny for the publicity.  T
