Burger King Changes Their Slogan
Okay, you can’t quite Have It Your Way anymore. But pretty close. Does a company’s slogan effect the way you think about them or motivate you to purchase their products? Is it catchy and marketed so heavily that maybe subconsciously they are in your head when you approach a buying decision in that product category? Well, who knows. But major brands do it all the time. In fact 40 years with the same slogan is considered an eternity. So kudos to Burger King for staying with “Have It Your Way” since the early 1970s.
The new slogan: “Be Your Way.” Not exactly making you think, “get me a flame-broiled Whopper right now,” is it? The marketing strategy: Promoting individuality in people rather than in their burgers. Uhhhhh….okay. Isn’t that what “Have it Your way” does? Ads began airing this week. BK also says the new motto is intended to remind people that they can and should live how they want anytime.
Gotta say, I prefer Have It Your Way over Be Your Way, just like I prefer Got Milk over the new Milk Life. But okay, Burger King, Be That Way. Hey! I think I just came up with a new slogan! I am a marketing genius! DB
