From parking lot fights to college snow days to a sledding trip never to be forgotten, the stories are piling up. And so is the snow along the eastern half of the United States. A blizzard battering of epic proportions is underway.

Just a few flakes dropped down to us by Associated Press:

Police in Philadelphia have posted a light-hearted parody video on their Facebook page, trying to urge residents not to block shoveled-out parking spaces with various objects, like cones, garbage cans and and lawn chairs.

University of Maryland students were planning to move back in their dorms this weekend. Until the school told them to stay away. They're closed at least until Monday.

On the lighter side, kids can legally sled on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.! That, thanks to an official okay from Congress. Capitol police have enforced a sledding ban for years, but lawmakers told them to chill. They'll still be on hand to monitor things, making sure everyone is behaving.

Suddenly winters in Montana don't seem too unbearable. If you have friends or family caught in the teeth of this thing, we hope they are safe.
