Yes, it would be spiritually uplifting and fulfilling to witness a Christmas miracle.Unfortunately, this wasn't one of them. But I think we can understand peoples' desires to believe.

The Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City says that a communion wafer that turned water red was caused by bread mold, not a miracle. A scientist was appointed to research the matter at St. Francis Xavier Church is Kearns, Utah. The finding was a natural explanation: the wafer's mold turned the water dark red.

A local Catholic priest says the church sets a pretty high bar for proving miracles. And there is no such thing if an event has "a conclusive natural explanation."

But even if only for a moment, we assume some people were pretty inspired.
