The Hamilton and Stevensville airports will be getting some money from the U.S. Department of Transportation, according to Montana's Senators Jon Tester and Steve Daines. The grants are for airport safety, rehab of runways, terminals and other infrastructure.

Hamilton's Ravalli County Airport will receive $1,850,000 for installation of weather reporting equipment and reconstruction of taxiways. The Stevensville Airport will be picking up $165,465 to install new taxiway lighting, along with reconstruction of an aviation apron and a parallel taxiway. Missoula International Airport will get $1,124,896 for terminal building construction and runway rehab. The money is a portion of over $20 million coming to about 20 Montana airports.

Sen. Daines said, "This funding will help bring our state's infrastructure into the 21st century, and as a result will boost tourism, create jobs and encourage visitors from around the nation to come see the treasures our great state has to offer."
