As you may already know, I am the proud mother of four boys. To say that my life and my house is filled with noise and dirt is an understatement. I sometimes find myself daydreaming of pink, flowers and girls that smell like cotton candy instead of boys that smell like farts. However, I am not delusional. I know that girls are not perfect either.

My saint of a brother has four daughters, so I get to hear stories of drama, crying and screaming about bad hair and mismatched outfits. It seems that either way you go, four of one gender or the other is either a little too much testosterone or too much estrogen.

I know that I will probably never come home to a spotless home with a nice table set and a fancy dinner all done by my boys, but I’m okay with that. I’d be lucky to come home and not find dirty socks and dishes laying all around the house.

My boys are pretty great. They’re not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but last I checked, neither was I. When I saw this video it made me smile. I know it’s not Mother’s Day yet but this video warmed my heart. It is so thoughtful and sweet the gift these sons give their mother. I can only hope that one day my boys will put as much effort into a gift for me.
