With high school graduations just around the corner, it can be hard to know what to get a soon to be grad. Now a days it seems like kids have everything; phones, tablets, every electronic device known to man… the list goes on.

However, since this will be the first time these teens will be living away from home, there are things they will need that don’t require electronics. This will be their first plunge head first into the real world and doing everything for themselves. Scary and wonderful at the same time.

All about the Benjamins – Of course. What soon to be college student doesn’t or won’t need money? College students are notoriously hungry, going to activities and occasionally thirsty. All of these things and more take money.

So fresh and so clean – Unlike clothes and shoes, your teen probably doesn’t have their own set of towels, shower shoes and toiletry kit. These are boring things to give and get, but great essentials to have.

Fluff and fold – Laundry seems to be one of those things that kids can manage to sneak by without doing all through growing up. Now that they will have to start doing their own laundry, your grad could use a laundry basket, detergent and probably a lesson or two on how to wash their skivvies.

Shake it like a Polaroid picture – You don’t want your grad to forget you or where they came from. So to help their memory and make them a little homesick (in a good way), give them a scrap book, a framed picture or even a poster of the family.

Its tool time – Mini tool kits make the perfect gift for grads, especially those that aren’t headed straight to college or those that will be living off campus, but even dorm dwellers will find this useful. Who won’t want to hang a picture or two?
